Monthly Church Board meetings are held on the first monday of every month. 

Elders & Deacons meet to accomplish the following:

• Participate in the strategic development of the mission, vision and values of various ministries and ministry initiatives
• Collaborates with ministry leaders and the Lead pastor to develop an annual budget and goals for the church.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of all ministry leaders including the Lead Pastor.
• Helps to ensure that the church stays true to its core mission by complying with its church bylaws.
• Inform the congregation of all financial needs that are presented to the church.
• Work to maintain Financial Integrity in the church
• Determine all pastoral salaries and honorarium for special speakers.
• See to the Physical Well-Being of church members by becoming aware of people struggling financially within the church community, visit them and assess their needs and how best to respond
• Be a sounding board to the pastor in diffusing unhealthy issues within the church body.
• Coordinate and plan a proper appreciation for Pastor during October.
• Exercise pastoral care by serving others with the gift of time and attention; connecting with people at ministry events, especially Sunday morning services.
• Attend scheduled monthly meetings and any other emergency meetings as they may arise.
• Perform the Call to Worship, Benedictions and Communion in rotation with other elders.
• Defend the faith from false teaching and patterns of worldly thinking in the church
• Pray for God’s people and the ministry and vision of Awaken church.
